6. Are there any hidden costs?

Ministry of Education's statutory board, The Council for Private Education [CPE] requires all Course fees + examination fees etc are to be disclosed to the student prior to registration. All fees are required to be listed in black & white on the school's website for each student's knowledge. Today is the first ever International Day of Happiness~ this special day aims to promote the idea that the pursuit of happiness is universal.

The first ever International Day of Happiness, designated by the United Nations, will see those keen to boost positivity across the globe take part in a host of activities designed to bring happiness to others, and by extension, themselves.

The International Day of Happiness was established by the UN general assembly in June 2012, and promises not to be just another date in a growing catalogue of global awareness days.

The day chosen is no coincidence; 20 March is an equinox, when day and night are of equal length, giving extra weight to the day’s message of stability and peace.

Finding the right nail school for yourself... [Part [1/3] The Pink Room International Nail Academy

With the increase in private schools in Singapore, we are all spoiled for choice and developing headaches on which private school to choose. There are so many questions in our minds, with the fear of wasting precious time and money. 

Which course should I take? What if I have no basic knowledge, will I be able to catch up? Can I trust the teacher? Will she be able to teach me since I have no basic skills? What if I don't learn what is promised? Why is this school better than that? Which school is more suitable for me? Will I be short charged since I have no prior knowledge? What if the school close down suddenly?

The Pink Room International Nail Academy

  While you are looking for a nail school that is suitable for you, here are some questions that will help you make an informed decision:

 1. Is the Private Education Institution (PEI) registered with the Council for Private Education (CPE)? If yes, how long?

This is important because, under the Private Education Act, all private schools in Singapore are required to be registered with the Ministry of Education's statutory board, The Council for Private Education [CPE] in order to issue higher qualification certificates such as Diploma & Degree Certificates legally. 

Each Registered Private School has issued a certificate that is only valid for one year or four years before they are subjected to another review/renewal. Each PEI goes through strict and thorough checks by the Council for Private Education [CPE]. 

Apart from the courses itself, the trainers, premises conduciveness, accounts, paperwork, financial ability of the company, operations systems, application forms, etc are carefully reviewed by the Council for Private Education [CPE] before approval. The validity period of each certification depends on how well the Registered Private School fare. The Council for Private Education [CPE] continues to monitor private schools regularly for compliance.

This is the first PRINA Certificate Examination of 2013!

Here is a group shot with Principal Rachel Tang, Master Educator Joe Chua and Senior Educator Nicole! Year after year, PinkRoom has successful trained many batches of PRINA Nailists. All of whom have received skills for them to keep~ Skills are something that no one is able to take away from you!!

After all the practices and effort they put in, it is time for the examinations! Going through the examinations and strict assessments by PinkRoom is the best way to determine how much you have learnt and achieved in your nail journey~ 

PRINAgals were all prepared with their own kits and Pinkroom apron, awaiting for the examination to commence. 

Everyone was very nervous as it was the first time for most of them. They have read about the examinations in our blogs and seen pictures, but it was the first time they are experiencing it 'live'! And let me tell you, what you see in pictures are very very different from the actual happenings in school that day!
