Singapore Cancer Society is a self-funded voluntary health organisation dedicated to minimising the impact of cancer through public education, screening, patient services, financial assistance, research and advocacy.
The objective of this charitable event is to bring joy by means of a pampering service to attendees of the forum. Some of whom might be newly diagnosed with breast cancer, or survivors in remission.
What Pink Room wants to relay is - Everyone should be pampered and well-taken care of! Spread the love ya? “It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.”
― Mother Teresa
“I feel healthy”; “I have no time”; “It’s painful” – these are the three common reasons cited by women aged between 50 and older for not going for a screening mammogram. This is despite the fact that mammograms are the most effective way of detecting breast cancer early, which can save lives. As such, this year’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month seeks to encourage more women to go for screening with the theme and message, “There’s No Excuse Not to Screen”.
