My Manicure Lesson Update so far...

A very girl-y post after all my complains about the HDB flat woes and counting down 

On a lighter note, my love for nails~ 

I have been very diligently going for lessons at Pink Room, located at International Plaza, for the past 2 months. Meaning 2 times per week, from 6.30pm to 9.30pm, straight after work 

I am very burnt out at the end of the day and am not very used to going back to night classes after all the last class that I had was so long back in 2008/2009? 

Anyway, so far, I am really enjoying the lessons. Teacher Nicole is nice and patient, classmates are chatty and friendly. :)

Imagine a mani/pedi party with mask party, quite shiok sia! (Friends, can consider hor! *lol* )

So this is it, my set up of the day: 

Basket filled with nails items by the side, my pinky arm rest wrapped with towel 

(I wanted all to be purple but not enough towel to use, so settle for the blue one for now while the lovely purple is under washing and I am so tempted to bling my stuff!) 

It's an addiction!

Signed up for the gelish course as well, am excited to start playing with gelish nail polish and also my coming LED lamp! Imagine curing time shorten to 90s~ seriously, technology is incredible

Looking at the colour available for angelpro nail is seriously tempting to get all home but well, $ is limited!

這是我的第一次


On 16th April, I had my first experience on gel. i had not done any gel in salon or play with it before. Hence from school, I have signed up for Angel Pro Gel Manicure Course. This is an additional course and i hesitate for some time before i decide to go for it. 


As many can say gelish (gel+polish) is simple, jus apply like polish. Since school started, approximate 2 months, i am still in my first module. Yes. Basic knowledge is important and you need solid foundation before you can start doing naily for others.


This is a totally wrong statement and things are more complicated than you think.


this course provide us some basic understanding, teaching us the correct method and technique of simple nail art. And gel nail art is different from polish. My Diploma course cover gel extension but not manicure, and me as a total noob towards gel, i wish to learn in-depth of e full process. This gel course is also e fundamental course before i can take up a Angel Pro trainer course. e Trainer course will allow me to equip with proper skill before i can teach others. I love to share and teach people =)

Before i start any naggy story, let me show you what i got from this course! 

Some nail art learnt from class! 

I used the six colors from the given set, but i use white and brown polish to complete the lace on the roses (1st from left), and the bear's feature (3rd from left). 

These colors are more pastel in actual. The color might had some changes as i need to use strong lighting in e night to capture these.

Marbling!

the technique used on polish and gel are totally different. My first marbling was "overflow"!

With better understanding of e gel texture, on my 2nd try, it was much better. I can better estimate e amount needed. But of coz, there are still lottas room for improvement. 

6 Colors with some basic stuffs!  Of coz 6 is not enough for me. So next day in school, i bought additional 15 bottles! 

With new member to e family, i need some storage space. Have yet think of a proper place for them.

(my cupboard was full of my polishes) this is a temporary solution... i found a pretty box to store up my gel. 

Gel colors aint cheap... But i can't resist e colors.. Have to slowly save up for e colors..

New colors! Having total 21 colors now.. but some are out of stock.. 

on e waiting list =) Cant wait to have more colors!

Mind-boggling Lessons

Now that official teaching lessons are over, the lessons from now on would be practicing, practicing and more practicing to prepare for our mock pedi and manicure exam!!

I managed to finish both manicure and pedicure within the time limit of 50 minutes and 60 minutes respectively, hurray!!! Also, finally I am able to grasp the technique of doing a nice French manicure with the help of Teacher Nicole! Well, I’m not there yet but I’m still trying!

I always look forward to class every week because there’s something new to learn! This week’s lesson will be SPA manicure and pedicure lesson! I’m excited~~

Had my mock extension exam on the last day of school. I was damn afraid, cos i never completed doing 1 set of extension on time and we were only given 80 mins to complete 5 nails (2 acrylic sculpture ext & 2 gel tip ext & 1 silk wrap).

My class mate started 1st, she did pretty well for her mock which makes me even more worried for my exam as I didnt had time to practice on any1 on the timing and just decided to try my luck for my mock exam. LOL!

Anyway, I got pretty good marks and I would say the extensions looks not bad. I ought to consider going for competition. LOL! (I'm just joking.) I was shaking thru out my mock, Im usually very noisy in class but somehow that day I was sooo quiet even my teacher notice it.

So, took a couple of photos of the extension i did on my classmate.

And dats it, it marks my last day of class. Im gonna start preparing for my certificate extension exam in either may/june. Dun really have the confidence but Im gonna practice and hope that luck will be on my side. LOL!

♥ Simplicity Nails

Good News to share, my classes have ended already! I've officially completed my Diploma Course at PinkRoom! (:

And not only that, beginning of March 2012, I went to take my manicure certificate exam, this was the group photo of me, my classmates and the pupils of PRINA (PinkRoomIntNailAcademy).

EXAM STARTS!

 After our practical, we were all talking about our experience while taking out pratical exam. At the mean while, waiting to take our Theory Exam too.

Trying real hard to rmb what I studied de night before. YES! I only started studying the night before T.T cos I'm the type that studying way before doesnt help in remembering stuff. :x

Overall experience, I think I was scared? and my hands were shaking towards the end of the exam cos I was soooooo afraid sth might go wrong and that I may just funk my exam. But after finishing, I believe that I did not that bad for my practical whereas for theory I felt that I didnt studied enough and was pretty worried about it.

During my last weekend, I received a call saying that my result was out, and that I would be able to go down to check out if I did passed it, As I was on my way to Vivo I decided to drop by to collect my result and shun bian stock up my extension stuff.

AND.... I received my transcript & cert which means..

I PASSED MY EXAM!!! (:
