PinkRoom Int'l Nail Academy focus mainly on technical non-product training, but we also support some brands in their product education. One of our academy's Product Training Programs is the Official Calgel Certification from Japan.

We are authorized since 2007 by CalGel[Japan] to carry an array of course which trains & certifies all who desires to use Calgel for their nail services.

All Calgel classes must be taught by a Calgel[Japan] Certified Educator. Our Principal, Ms Rachel Tang is a Certified Calgel[Japan] Educator since 2007. Our academy education team also include Japanese Trainers certified by Calgel[Japan].

Our Classes are mostly catered to Japanese Students, as classes are conducted in Japanese & English Language. Local students are also welcomed. Students learn about the theory & practical of Calgel usage, they would also be given hands-on practical where the trainer would be on-hand next to them all the way.

All student would be issued a Certificate of Merit by Rachel after completing their test at the end of their course. The Certificate & ID students received is exactly the same as those issed in Japan.

Students can use their ID cards to purchase their Calgel goods directly from Japan or at our academy. Only students who had obtain the Calgel[Japan] Certification & ID card are allowed to make product purchases or attend any advance courses.

Gel Polish Nails & Cotton Wool

In this photo, the nails are polished with thin layer of colored gel.(See link for more info..)
Held in the hands are some cotton bolls I've bought from my last Tokyo trip. So soft & cute cotton bolls, dun think I've seen any in S'pore though.. Stuffed 2 stalks into my luggage on my way back from Japan, itz my favourite flower for now..haha.

Was juz chatting about cotton on msn.. realized that most of us city dwellers do not know how cotton looks like or how itz grown.. on trees? some asked..hehe.
It's amazing how we've taken for granted something so simple in our lives, our cotton t-shirts, bedsheets, cotton pads, towels, etc. .. all come from this cute little plant.

Gel Polished Nails...Cute ^.~

Since i'm in town, did a set of cute nails for my dear sweet gal... before everyone starts to rant; since when am I servicing customers?... she's not a salon customer; she's been a great support & friend. Also, she's our hand model for most competitions & photo shoots.

Removed Joe's acrylic extensions from our last photo shoot & painted ANGEL-PRO's gel polish onto her real nails.
I figure this was the fastest solution after removing her extensions, as there was no much time for me to do much as everyone's waiting for her at maxwell market.. Took only about 30 mins to complete the pearl-white and red-polka dots french design, coz itz totally like nail polish & cure instantly under the UV light.
I thot of Louis before painting the design..no time no time.. (..Coz Louis soak off the extensions & mickey mouse is his favourite character..) ...actually was doing more minnie mouse than mickey..haha!
But imagine this..Joe's acrylic extensions lasted till now, amazing no lifting..I think he did her nails early dec 2009. The power of CHARISMA ACRYLIC NAIL SYSTEM..WOoo.

Oh~ I think there's something wrong with me. But I loveeeeee the smell of the (nail) gel cleanser. Can smell it on my nails now.
I went over to Pink Room after that. Louis soaked off the extensions, and Principle Rachel did gel overlay for me. She used AngelPro gel. And it's sooooooo cute! =D

And I want to mention that everyone should start using this technique!

Cause...
1. It's v.fast. Took less than an hour to complete this.
2. Lasts longer than nail polish. You know how polish chips after a few days, this doesn't.
3. V.shiny! It's like having a new coat of topcoat all the time!
4. Can keep gel for longer time. Polish drys up quicky right... Gel won't.
5. Don't have to worry about the colors smudging since the UV light will cure the gel. And you know how you are worried about taking your bag or whatever after a manicure in case you spoil the polish, you don't have to worry about this, cause it's 100% "dry".
6. And the gel cleanser smells awesome.

And I can't rmb what else, I had another few points.

Japanese Plastic Food ^.^

Happy New Year 2010! There's totally no time to upload the blog, the backlog is so hard to keep up..haha.

Here's a peek at my messy table. Also there's something that had been my fascination for a long time. You can see it next to Tinkle-Bell... yeap! The "delicious" strawberry ice-cream on cornflakes!

When I was in Japan last month, brought back a whole lot of "real desserts".

Adding to my already huge collection this time are: a strawberry+red bean parfait, ice-ka chang with condense milk, iced-cold beer and another full miniature sushi collection ...haha..

Well.. they looked real enough to eat! Totally made from resin & soft plastics, they are a feast to the eyes... The parfait, in all its creamy majesty, has a calorie count of precisely zero. That's because this parfait is not meant to be eaten, except with the eyes. It's a yummy example of another unique Japanese innovation -- replica food.

You can see them outside some Japanese Restaurants, to show customers just what kind of food the establishment offers. These kinds of replicas are rarely seen outside Japan, and they are known as a unique aspect of Japanese culture.

The cost is steep --starting from about 5,000 yen --no calories included, perfect for those on diet.. I also used them as references when creating the 3D nail art that we see in Fantasy Nails or Mixed Media Category.

Do not be mistaken that because the above parfait is made of plastic, that is why the strawberries looked so fake... in actual fact the real strawberries in Japan all looked so perfect that you'll think that they are unreal...the strawberries in the boxes below are what you see being sold on the streets.
