nail art to raise awareness & donations for japan.

The "My-Melody nailart" i did above has on her red-heart, that says :"JAPAN 頑張る!!"(japan gambaru)It means to give one's all & best!! To try hard & not give up!! This is my heart's prayers to everyone in Japan...

It's been more than a week after the earthquake in Japan, the major damage is done but the rebuilding and survival of those who are alive continues... Watching the tragedy played out on TV everyday is heart-wreathing, not because the Japanese were screaming & wailing about their situations... it is precisely because they did not, that made such a huge impact...i know the Japanese culture, the absences of pained-expressions does not equate the absence of real pain.

Especially for me, Japan is a place of much tears, hardship & joy during my early nailist days. Even today, many of my Japanese friends are nailist in Japan. Although my friends are save & sound, many of their friends & families are not. As a nailist, you might feel that you there is so little you can do to help...but in fact, every little effort is a contribution.

As you are all aware, I do not run a salon or provide nail services in our academy.
So............

Each & everyone of my present students, past students, graduates running your own home-services or salons, any nail technician / manicurists:
I would like to encourage each & everyone of you to include a couple of these nailart for your customers to be done onto their nails. You can collect / put aside the money from these nail arts and contribute them to any charities helping Japan to rebuild.
As a nailist, you can use your nail art to raise awareness for the Japanese still struggling for their survival daily, who lost their loved ones, who are burying their loved ones, who are still searching desperately for those missing, who lost every single one of their possessions & home, who are still living in the fear of nuclear radiations. ...
You can also use your skills to raise funds & donations to help. Do a fund raising campaign & donate all the money from that campaign to the list of charities helping Japan with its country's recovery efforts. Do forward me your fund-raising campaigns & I would tag & link it on our blog for free.
I always believed that no matter what job we do or where we are, we can make a difference to another person's life... if you just take the time & open your heart.

**Please ensure that the Charity or Organization you donate to, is legit & the money really goes directly to the victims and not to some scammers trying to profit from this tragedy.
