Graduation Ceremony November 2017

Congratulations to our Graduates!

The Pinkroom International Nail Academy recently threw a Graduation Ceremony for 2017's last batch of graduates on the 20th of November 2017.

It has been a long road for these lovely ladies who are now OFFICIALLY certified with a Diploma in Professional Nail Technology, which is a comprehensive course that encompasses the necessary knowledge and skills needed by a professional nail technician.

Our students have learnt and completed practical sessions coupled with detailed theory explanations throughout their course. Being certified by EduTrust, Pinkroom International Nail Academy has been deemed to have consistently maintain high standards in key areas of management and in the provision of education services. Our graduates are now confidently able to move on and even set up a nail salon business with thepractical Salon Business Management skills that was taught as part of the Diploma course.

Now moving on to the fun part! We were all set up with the decorations and food ready and waiting for our lovely Graduates. You could feel the excitement in the air as everyone registered and started arriving with their family and friends.

Happy chatter filled the air as everyone gathered in the room and helped themselves to the buffet spread! YUM. Things are always better when there's food, right?

It was our Principal Rachel's as well as Master Joe's turn to give their speeches! It was the time to inspire and encourage our girls before they move on into the big world and spread their wings on a new and exciting journey! We are sure they will go far in their careers with their Diploma and can't help but feel proud of their accomplishment so far, and they know that they are always welcome should they need us!

GROUP PHOTO TIME!

OK - seems like everyone is motivated and raring to go, waiting for the next moment… Awarding the certification!

Look at all the happy faces!

We are happy to have been a part of all of their learning journeys and look forward to attending more salon openings in future!

PinkRoom Graduation Ceremony - Part l & ll

As a school, the most satisfying day of the year for us is undoubtedly the Graduation Ceremony. It’s a time when everyone - teachers, staff and students - celebrate the culmination of months of lectures, tutorials and practicals, and the beginning of our student’s journey into the nail industry.

While we do offer shorter courses and workshops, PinkRoom is known best for our Diploma course. PinkRoom is currently registered with Singapore MOE’s Council for Private Education (CPE) to provide the Diploma in Nail Technology course, the highest level of nail certification in Singapore. The Diploma certificate that we give out is on par with other private schools such as MDIS, Kaplan and SIM, and can be articulated to various Bachelor programmes.

We highly recommend this course to all aspiring nailists as it covers all aspects of professional nail services, including natural nail care, acrylic/gel extensions and mixed media art, and is an excellent foundation for advanced license or trainer certifications. Our courses are also recognized by several International nail associations, including the Japan Nail Association and Korea Nail Expert Association, among others.

Almost 80% of our students do not have a background in nails and most come to us wanting to take that first step towards a career in the nail industry. And judging from the number of graduates we churn out every year, we’re proud to say that PinkRoom has successfully transformed many students with zero nail knowledge to competent nailists and accomplished salon owners. Having the right knowledge and skills from the start is very important, and PinkRoom’s detailed syllabus and challenging examinations ensures that all our students are able to grasp the skills before progressing.

Part ll Graduation Ceremony 20.09.14

And this is probably why all of us here look forward to Graduation Day (probably more than the students!) every year - we see the students come in all wide-eyed on their first day of class and fast forward a few months, we’re ready to watch them spread their wings and fly! This year, we not only have one…but TWO Graduation Ceremonies to look forward to. Woo hoo! =)

Last Monday, on 15th September, we celebrated the Graduation Ceremony of close to 120 over graduates - the largest turnout ever! Our classrooms and halls were packed full with our graduates, who turned up together with their family and friends. From as early as 6pm, people were streaming in, registering to collect their attendance certificates, signing our guestbook, playing with our DIY iPad Photo Booth and helping themselves to our sumptuous catered buffet…all while catching up with classmates they hadn’t seen in months!

Rachel started off with a quick welcome speech and we proceeded to cut the custom-designed Pink Room cake. It’s a bit weird to be cutting the cake before the certificates were given out, but we heard some graduates had to leave early to go back to their families and kids. The cake was in celebration for ALL our graduates, and we didn’t want anyone to miss out, so that became the first order of the night!

A photo with the Birthday girl who celebrated her birthday at the ceremony too~
Then finally, we proceeded to the actual ceremony. One by one, all the graduate’s names were called out as they came to the front to shake Rachel’s hand, collect their certificates and take a photo. The sight of all our grinning graduates making their way to the front, surrounded by the claps and cheers of their classmates and family/friends, was indeed enough to make us beam like proud mama bears!

By 9pm, we had given out all the Certificate of Completions for the Diploma course, the Professional Manicurist Certificates and lastly, the Diploma Certificates together with a cute little ‘Graduation’ teddy bear. Group photos were taken and hugs were all around - the evening was a huge success and we’re glad everyone had fun!

And on Saturday 20th September, we had a smaller, more intimate tea-time ceremony with 40 over graduates. As it was a weekend, more family and friends of our graduates were able to join us. Some even brought along their children, the cutest kids you’ve ever seen… and all our other graduates spent most of the after-party swooning over the kids, taking turns to take pictures with them. Even our Master Educator Joe couldn’t resist getting a photo with the little celebrities!

Congratulations again to all our graduates! Everyone here at PinkRoom is super proud of you and believe each of you will carry on to do many great things! Just remember - once a PRINA gal, always a PRINA gal! You may have graduated but you’re part of the family now, so don’t be a stranger and come back to say hi if you’re ever in the area!

And for those of you reading who are inspired by our graduates to enter the nail industry, give us a ring at 6348 1592 or email courseconsultant@the-pinkroom.com, and we’ll be happy to share more about our courses with you!

PRINA Cerificate Examination Aug '14

At PinkRoom, we comply to high standards of nail education and students are required to attain a minimum mark of 80% in order to pass the examination and obtain the Professional Certificate. This is to ensure that students are well prepared and able to acquire the confidence, skills and knowledge to handle work in the nail industry.

The school takes the examinations seriously and students will have to fare well in both the practical and theory exams. Examinations are definitely important as it is a form of gauge to see what students can achieve.

Registration started first and models would have to get their nails checked by our educators to make sure nails are disease-free and are ready for the practical examination. Students then gather to prepare and get ready all the items needed for the exams.

Silence is observed throughout the classroom when the examination starts except for the sound of nail files and tools.  Students will go through the same procedures as past examinations, undergoing a practical exam and next a theory exam. Principal Rachel Tang and Senior Educator Nicole would invigilate the examinations, observing the students and their work.

After the given time is up for the practical examination, models' nails would be accessed while the students would go prepare for the theory examination that was up next. Theory examinations are as important as it students need to be knowledgeable about nails should they encounter any special circumstances in their future work. By the looks on their faces you will know PRINA girls sure are serious about their examinations!

A picture with Master Educator Joe who have taught some of these girls in classes! Smiles were everywhere after the examinations ended and they were confident that they had fared well during the process. The long hours of practice and hard work will pay off girls! And lastly, a group shot of everyone with the Rachel, Joe and Nicole.

That marks the end of the examinations! PRINA gals are always welcome to drop by Pink room for self-practices, updates and to visit their teachers :)

Highlights of Pink Your Nails, Color Their World charity manicure event

Even before students start streaming in for classes, the Pink Room Team are already at work and this is usually the case. The usual cycle~ But last week really put us in a whirl as Pink Room rise up to organize our first charity manicuring event with over 70 PinkRoom students & graduates coming together to provide gel manicure for a good cause! 100% of the proceeds going towards improving lives of Street Children in developing countries, such as Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam.

Here's some highlights of what happened:

Pink Room's student/graduates hard at work, donning the iconic hot Fuchsia T-Shirt that was specially made for our event. Pink Room has always been marked by our own classic hot pink as it's the right color that clearly translate a girly fandom of nails, manicures and really feminine nail charms and stickers!
The Classic red was the most preferred among all the other colors as it matches well with our fair Asian skin tone.
Munch Time!! Huge Thanks to our sponsor for providing yummy Taiwanese cuisine for our girls. But first, let us take a #welfie.
Our Principal Rachel Tang had managed to talked to the organisers for the special event that happened on the 11th of June. The organizers were so supportive of the event. They event provided tables and chairs just for that day!

With so many of our students/graduates gathered together in one place, how can we not take another #wefie?! Hahas.
Group shot with the Handsum Master Educator Joe and Dolled Up Principal Rachel.
To much surprise, we got quite a few request from little girls to paint their nails! It was pretty adorable and amusing but then, vanity is not limited by age ;)

1Q32 gel polish does not require harming chemicals, making it safe to use on kids!
Our customer's customized gel art at the booth~ The big heart customer wanted to donate a larger amount, and our team customized her nail art for her.

Master Educator Joe Chua getting his nails trimmed by our mini nailist while contemplating if he should pass his skills over to him... Such a cutie pie!!
#prointhemaking #lol

Our PinkRoom students and graduates had been very supportive, they even came down with food and drinks~ worrying that the Team would be too busy that they didn't have time to fill their tummies. It's heartwarming to see that they are so supportive! #muchlove

It was indeed an interesting experience and one that we'll never forget. With the success of this event, we hope to be able to have more of such charity manicure event! Our Principal Rachel Tang believes that as professional nailists, we can do good for the society with the skills we have. Changing lives, one manicure at a time!
