Mid-Week Feature with Eriko-san & Rachel:

 

Eriko Kurosaki is a well-known figure in the nail industry in Japan. With her charismatic nature and 'kawai' style, she has since been featured on multiple TV shows and magazines. Eriko and Rachel met by chance in a international nail competition when they were both the invited judges. 

As both are very passionate about nails and nail trends, the two professionals hit it off immediately. Soon, ideas and collaboration concepts were formed. Both agreed that the exchange of Japan's and Singapore's nail knowledge would be greatly advantageous for each other! This is also why Eriko was invited down to be a nail educator to Pink Room students for a day. It was a rare and unique chance for Pink Room student!

Eriko and Rachel has been friends since that fortunate competition and more is yet to come! In Nail Up! Vol.57, the Nail Up! editorial team has traveled down to Singapore and interviewed Pink Room regarding the first TAT pop-up store and PinkRoom's Shoppink Room. 

Focusing not only on PinkRoom, the editorial team did a little feature about the culture and must-go places in Singapore too! There's the famous chicken rice with special soaked rice that leaves one wanting for more and the symbolic Merlion statue that is a fusion of a lion and mermaid. The team also headed down to the newly opened Universal Studios! Though they claimed that it is very much the same as the one in Japan, I'm sure there is still some differences installed that has given them a pleasant surprise ~

PINK ROOM PINK OPEN HOUSE

PinkRoom is all hyped up for this Saturday's Open House! We have already received many registrations and enquiries about it, hence, we are calling all nail fanatics to NOT miss this chance.

As of 19 August 2011, The Pink Room International Nail Academy is a registered Private Education Institution (PEI) with the Council of Private Education in Singapore under Section 36(1) of the Private Education Act and our diploma is registered under the Ministry of Education (MOE).

We aim to deliver high quality nail class, hence, our syllabus has been scrutinised and constantly updated. Setting high standards for ourselves, we do not compromise on our student's class time and we encourage our students to come for make up classes whenever they miss a class to ensure that they do not miss out any nail tips or techniques.

WE LOVE FRIDAYS! (TGIF)

Unless the skies are pouring and a car whizzed past you, splashing puddles of muddy water on you just as you're on your way to the most important job interview of you life, your Friday should be pretty awesome. 

This week has been pleasant atPink Room and we see more and more of our student coming in for self-study too! Yippee~ Our goal is to produce top-notch nailists who will be confident with their skills in future and I'm glad that our girls here are taking things much more seriously as their nail examinations is (looming) coming up!

PinkRoom takes professionalism seriously and our campus ensures that ample space is always available to our students for hands-on practice. SO, we urge all Pink Room students to work hard and we pray that you girls (you know who you girls are (;) will kick-ass at the examination!

Sorry girls, but when you spill drinks and food all over in the classrooms, PinkRoom HAD to think of a solution. After all, practising nail art also means we need to ensure a hygienic and sanitised learning area for all. SO, we actually brought in a little table for all our students to put their food and beverages before going into the class! Don't worry, no one will steal your food and drinks ;) We swear.

WHAT YOU'VE MISSED LAST WEDNESDAY

Happy Mid-Week! 

It is mid-week and we can't help but look back on last Wednesday (5 March 2014) where Pink Room embarked on our very first collaboration with Vanity Trove. All work and no fun makes Jack a dull boy, hence, this collaboration sparked off with Vanity Trove's very exclusive Get, Snap, Blingo! project launch party at Zouk Singapore. Here's what you've missed:

There was the VERY FIRST 1Q32 D.I.Y Nail Bar where girls can choose from a range of 1Q32 Instant Gellish and paint it themselves! The response was overwhelming as some even had to queue up just to get to the bar and its pretty nail polishes. We were impressed by the girl’s painting skills! Some of them even did nail art with the gel.

1Q32 Instant Gellish is a one-step gel polish~ the latest revolution of gel polish (aka Gelish). 1Q32 made it easy for us to DIY our nails if we have a last minute dinner date, and didn’t have time to head to the salons. Our graduate students even came down and help out at the event! We are extremely glad that Chuxuan & the girls from Juup Nails came down to give manicures, at the same time, we're even more pleased when Kate and Piya from Polished Nail Boutique agreed to assist us during this event. We're very proud of our students! YAY to professional nail education at PinkRoom!! \(^.^)/

Our graduates have been running their salons for some time now~ they did not panic even when the queue started building up. They were professional throughout the whole event!~ The guests were impressed by their services and also said that they will visit them at the salon! Everyone made new friends that night. We heard many roars of laughter coming from the booths! 

The two emcees of the night was attracted to our booths and even got their free manicures! They look so amazing for that night. Both of them made the event light up with their larger than life personalities! 

The highlight of the night is when Pink Room's Principal, Ms. Rachel Tang (@iamracheltang) stepped into the spotlight and did a live demonstration for everyone on stage. Everyone was intrigued by the demo! Many did not believe that it was possible to DIY their own nails with gel polish. Rachel, the nail expert did the talking~~ while the model DIY to show how simple it is!

It was a very happening night, the joyous atmosphere was infectious and everyone had fun that night. We're very honored to be able to work with Vanity Trove and we'll look forward to more of such endeavors. I mentioned in the earlier post that our PinkRoom's Master Educator Joe Chua drew a couple of us on to nail-tips using the techniques of Realistic Face Painting. So as promised, these are the rest of the hand-painted nail art he did...

Yes~ it's ME!

This was done by PinkRoom's Master Educator Joe Chua some time ago~ I remembered he just sat there drawing away with a fine brush and an array of paints... silently on his own drawing and drawing (those who knows him, know what I meant~ LOL) And after a while, he just turned around and asked "Nice or not?"
