Mid-Week Feature with Eriko-san & Rachel:

Eriko Kurosaki is a well-known figure in the nail industry in Japan. With her charismatic nature and 'kawai' style, she has since been featured on multiple TV shows and magazines. Eriko and Rachel met by chance in a international nail competition when they were both the invited judges.

As both are very passionate about nails and nail trends, the two professionals hit it off immediately. Soon, ideas and collaboration concepts were formed. Both agreed that the exchange of Japan's and Singapore's nail knowledge would be greatly advantageous for each other! This is also why Eriko was invited down to be a nail educator to Pink Room students for a day. It was a rare and unique chance for Pink Room student!

Eriko and Rachel has been friends since that fortunate competition and more is yet to come! To learn more about their journey in the nail industry, grab a copy of their feature in Japan's popular Nail Up! Vol.58 issue at Shoppink Room! Focusing not only on PinkRoom, the editorial team did a little feature about the culture and must-go places in Singapore too! There's the famous chicken rice with special soaked rice that leaves one wanting for more and the symbolic Merlion statue that is a fusion of a lion and mermaid. The team also headed down to the newly opened Universal Studios! Though they claimed that it is very much the same as the one in Japan, I'm sure there is still some differences installed that has given them a pleasant surprise ~

Well, there's is so much more features in Nail Up! Vol. 57,including the special interview between TAT's President, Mr. Naoki Tanako, and Pink Room's Principal, Ms. Rachel Tang. NAIL UP! FEATURE WITH PINK ROOM GRADUATES

There are no words as to how proud PinkRoom truly is about our graduates' achievements. So when our graduates' salons are voted as Singapore's most popular nail salons, the swell of pride we have for them as well as for our motto in providing quality nail classes is truly amazing.

Juup Nails has a pleasant and relaxing interior, managed by one of PinkRoom's graduate, Ms. Chu Wen. Ms. Chu Wen has always been a friendly and hardworking student at PinkRoom, her work has been meticulous and her nail techniques are of quality as well! In recent weeks, she has also helped out at PinkRoom in the recent exclusive media event with Vanity Trove. We truly appreciate her as a helpful individual and a dear member of our Pink Room family.

As for The Nail Artelier, the founders, Ms. Jenrine and Ms. Ying, were also once our students. Similar to Ms Chu Wen, after going through hours of practicing and self-study, they have emerged as nail professionals. With and enigmatic victorian theme, their salon has garnered the interest of many, which is also why PinkRoom is proud to have them as members of the PinkRoom family.

Both Juup Nails and The Nail Artelier has been featured in Japan's Nail Up! Vol.57 issue and read more about PinkRoom and its students, do grab a copy at the Shoppink Room, located at the International Plaza #06-18 [Exit C of Tanjong Pagar MRT].

這是我的第一次

On 16th April, I had my first experience on gel. i had not done any gel in salon or play with it before. Hence from school, I have signed up for Angel Pro Gel Manicure Course. This is an additional course and i hesitate for some time before i decide to go for it.

As many can say gelish (gel+polish) is simple, jus apply like polish. Since school started, approximate 2 months, i am still in my first module. Yes. Basic knowledge is important and you need solid foundation before you can start doing naily for others.

This is a totally wrong statement and things are more complicated than you think.

this course provide us some basic understanding, teaching us the correct method and technique of simple nail art. And gel nail art is different from polish. My Diploma course cover gel extension but not manicure, and me as a total noob towards gel, i wish to learn in-depth of e full process. This gel course is also e fundamental course before i can take up a Angel Pro trainer course. e Trainer course will allow me to equip with proper skill before i can teach others. I love to share and teach people =)
Lets spread and share e naily love~~

Before i start any naggy story, let me show you what i got from this course!

Some nail art learnt from class!
I used the six colors from the given set, but i use white and brown polish to complete the lace on the roses (1st from left), and the bear's feature (3rd from left).
These colors are more pastel in actual. The color might had some changes as i need to use strong lighting in e night to capture these.
Marbling!
the technique used on polish and gel are totally different. My first marbling was "overflow"!
With better understanding of e gel texture, on my 2nd try, it was much better. I can better estimate e amount needed. But of coz, there are still lottas room for improvement.

6 Colors with some basic stuffs!  Of coz 6 is not enough for me. So next day in school, i bought additional 15 bottles!

With new member to e family, i need some storage space. Have yet think of a proper place for them.
(my cupboard was full of my polishes) this is a temporary solution... i found a pretty box to store up my gel.
Gel colors aint cheap... But i can't resist e colors.. Have to slowly save up for e colors..
Color obsession !

New colors! Having total 21 colors now.. but some are out of stock..
on e waiting list =) Cant wait to have more colors!

KAWAII KITTY DESSERT NAILART WORKSHOP

With the next Kawaii Melody Pro Nail art workshop coming up, I thought it would be a good time to blog about our last workshop by PRINA.Club.

The last workshop was the KITTY DESSERT NAILART WORKSHOP!
It is everyone's favourite character and we had two classes due to popular response.
The workshop this time round is different from the previous Kitty workshop. We taught cutesy desserts like ice cream, donut etc since festive seasons were round the corner!!

The workshop was taught by our Principal, Rachel Tang~ Rachel has been teaching for many years now, and is more than experienced to teach you gals, the secret techniques to create these cutesy nailart that are used in Japan! After all, she is probably the only Japan Level 1 Licensed Nailist from JNA in Singapore.

The day started with Rachel sharing the nailart she created and what the students will be able to achieve at the end of the workshop. With these kawaii images in mind, everyone was excited and ready to absorb all that she had to share that afternoon!

Not only did she painstakingly repeat the little points to note when creating the desserts, she also touched on color combinations to use. You might not realise, but the color choices are very important and will affect the overall look. Students were given the secret recipes, what color numbers combinations to use, detailed technical step by steps! Super!!

At PinkRoom's workshop, you'll make every cents worth as the trainers willing share and teach every little pointers you'll need to know to create the prefect nailart... from proportions, to colors, to positioning and which product to use and how to control the product ~

Rachel will patiently check and correct every student's work as they progress to more advance nailart by the end of the day. Every student managed to hands on and tried doing the desserts that were taught. Apart of the practical, Rachel had theory to teach students the proportions of the nailarts.

The workshops were sponsored by Angel.Pro, Charisma and 1Q32.
The students used the PASTEL and TRADITIONAL colors from Charisma, and
SUNSHINE RAINBOW SERIES and YUMMY PASTEL SERIES from Angel.Pro to create the kawaii nailart.

A group pix for keepsake~! Check out the happy faces~ though tired after spending the whole day here! With no break~ as everyone wanted to make full use of every minute in class

With hard-working students like this, PinkRoom is more than happy to hold more of such workshops in the future! It beats having to travel overseas to learn kawaii nailart as you'll need to pay more and still, the trainers are not as patience and detailed as our trainers. That's only because our trainers teach for the welfare of students! And want to take make sure that every student learn and archive.

See what some of the students had to say!

For updates on future workshops, do follow us on Facebook.
The next upcoming workshop is the MELODY-PRO Nailart Class~!
